HOW TO … be a better teacher! Some simple ‘tips’ (Part A)

By definition a professional aims at improving his/her everyday performance for developmental reasons and this takes the shape of an on-going effort for developing the state of art of the humanistic science that he/she serves.The following ‘tips’ may help some of us to re-think about the state of our teaching as a humanistic profession during our summer holidays and develop, alter or change some of our routines for the next school year.

Examination Day: Cambridge and JAR

It was 16th of May, a Sunday in a weekend of examinations. My FCE class had taken their Cambridge exam yesterday, and most were happy with their performances, while Advanced and Proficiency students had started writing at 9:15 that morning. My thoughts were with them, but were also focused on what would happen at 15:00, just 10 minutes after they finished, when I would take my main exam for JAR FCL1, the new pan- European private pilot’s licence that had supplanted the national ones used earlier. Yes, it was exams for all of us!
