Magic Book for the 3rd Grade

The Ministry of Education has completed the series of English language textbooks for the state primary and secondary school system by publishing the Magic Book, to be used in primary schools across the country from the next academic year.The authoring team comprises: Dr Thomai Alexiou, Dr Marina Mattheoudaki (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), Elizabeth Giazasi, Maria Emmanouilidou, Ioanna Ziaka, Katerina Kaiktsi, Chryssa Laskaridou, Nikoletta Balassopoulou, Elena Sofroniadou and Nicos Tsiadimos (teachers of English at the 3rd Experimental School of Evosmos, Thessaloniki).
The scientific director was Prof. Bessie Dendrinos, University of Athens.
The book has been extensively piloted in primary schools and has been developed for children who have or have not received any English instruction, who may live in cities or isolated villages, with or without access to the internet.
The textbook caters for different learning styles and intelligences according to the authoring team, and is based on learning through stories, songs, chants and playful activities such as mazes, decoding games, problem solving activities and puzzles.
The Magic Book also contains a lot of cross-curricular features and cultural elements.
