Portuguese Minister receives ECDL Excellence Award for enhancing Public Sector ICT Skills

Despite having one of the highest levels of broadband connectivity in the EU, the Portuguese Ministry of Labour and Social Solidarity identified the need to substantially develop the digital skills and knowledge of all Portuguese Public Sector workers through ECDL certification. Worldwide ‘obsession’ with league tables

Higher education institutions worldwide are much more concerned about league tables and ranking systems than expected, an OECD investigation has found. “There appears to be a near obsession with the status and trajectory of the top 100,” a report of the investigation states. This despite the fact that there are 17,000 higher education institutions around the globe. City & Guilds July Exams in 17 Cities and future Exam Dates

Following the continuous rise of interest in the City & Guilds Exams and the unique proposition of Six Exam Periods per year, the City & Guilds July exams took place in 17 Cities across Greece on 24 & 25 July. As already announced, registration for all Exam Periods until December 2010 is currently open (October & December).The next exam period is the October 2010 on 23 & 24 October and the December 2010 on 11 & 12 December. Cambridge ESOL rolls out new, fit-for-students exam tips seminars and helps in building better preparation methods for candidates throughout Greece Providing quality assistance to numerous colleagues throughout Greece as part of their candidates’ exam preparation has always been amongst the main goals for us at Cambridge ESOL Greece. May Exams in 32 Cities and future Exam Dates

Following high demand the City & Guilds May exams took place on the weekend 29 & 30 May in 32 Cities across Greece. As already announced, registration for all Exam Periods until December 2010 is currently open (July, October & December).The next exam period is the October 2010 Exam Period on the 23 & 24 October. Annual Food Festival: Rain but gain

The entrance gates opened, but instead of people flocking in to taste the wares at the annual Food-for-Good Festival, the skies released a downpour.Twenty minutes later clear weather prevailed, mercifully encouraging 1,373 paying guests to come and sample the home-cooked food of 41 countries at Thessaloniki’s Plaz Aretsou on June 6. A healthy 10,000 was raised to support the needs of three local charities: Arsis, the Greek Association for the Protection of People with Autism, and the Association of Volunteers and Friends for the Protection of Minors. ...more
