The “Scientific Association of State School Teachers of English of the Dodecanese” (EP.E.K.A.D.E.D.) was founded in 2005 to meet the demands of state school teachers of English, to collaborate and exchange ideas in order to support teacher development and student motivation in state schools.It is true that EP.E.K.A.D.E.D. faces many difficulties due to the nature of the territory of the Dodecanese islands. Teachers who work on these islands do not stay here for long nor can they easily communicate with teachers of other islands and it is very difficult for them to share problems and ideas. ...more

‘Vocabulary Revision Strategies’ was the title of a seminar given by Mr Michelioudakis (Teacher Trainer) at two events organised by the local PALSO Associations of Kavala and Drama respectively. The workshop was practical,informative and entertaining. Mixing sound pedagogical advice with video clips from BBC Comedies, Mr Michelioudakis had the audience alternately playing with words and roaring with laughter. ...more

PEKADE has expanded its activities and cooperates with State School Advisors in various areas of Greece. City & Guilds was present at the International Publishers exhibition (Athens & Thessaloniki) with a stand that gave teachers and school owners the chance to get some hands-on experience of the new IESOL computer-based test. The City & Guilds IESOL computer based test is available at all six levels of the Common European Framework and visitors at the IP exhibition were able to try out a practice test at a level of their choice and print their results at the City & Guilds stand. Visitors also received a bag with practice test booklets for all levels prepared by the City & Guilds team, as well as a CD-ROM containing computer-based practice tests at all levels. ...more
