Work being carried out as part of the English Profile Programme is going to give teachers, learners, researchers, curriculum planners and other education professionals unprecedented insight into language learning at the highest levels.The work of John Trim and his colleagues in the 80s and 90s gave the language learning community the hugely influential Threshold and Vantage volumes covering the levels A2, B1 and B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference. 2010 ALTE Testing Courses
Places still available-ALTE Introductory Course in Language Testing
This one-week course will be taught by Dr Lynda Taylor, Consultant to University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations, and Professor Cyril Weir of the University of Bedfordshire. Participants are expected to have a professional interest in testing, and may be employed by an ALTE member or affiliate, though are not expected to have a profound knowledge of the subject area.
