Thousands of students graduating from high school in Romania can now benefit from holding a Cambridge ESOL certificate. A decision by the country’s Ministry of Education has meant school leavers who have passed selected tests and exams will be exempt from the English Component of their final high school examinations.
The tests recognised by the Ministry of Education include the Preliminary English Test, First Certificate in English, Cambridge English: Advanced, Certificate of Proficiency in English, the Business English Certificates and IELTS.
Dionysia Ioannou, Cambridge ESOL’s Development Manager for the region said: ‘Students who have worked hard to gain a language qualification from Cambridge ESOL will really see the benefits of their efforts. Our certificates will help school leavers in Romania increase their global mobility through increased opportunities in higher education and the global workplace’.
