Developing and adapting materials for the Online Classroom

Recent developments worldwide have indicated that education is moving towards a blended, or even solely online, mode of delivery.

It is our duty as teachers to adapt to the new situation as quickly as possible, which would mean moving away from our comfort zone, namely the traditional classroom. Within this framework, a major consideration is whether the teaching materials we have been using up today are suitable for the new context.

Our brief experience with online teaching these past few months has shown that there is a need to adapt existing materials, and even develop new ones, which will better suit the online classroom.

Hence, this webinar aims at presenting practical ways of how teachers can adapt or develop online materials, bearing in mind the inherent limitations of the ones used in the traditional classroom.

The participants will have the opportunity to not only become familiar with the principles governing online materials, but also acquire hands-on experience by applying these principles themselves.
